Duncan Chamberlain’s “Eagy’s Nest” graces his own front yard in Sarasota, Florida. It’s a sentry to his peaceful property where it is surrounded by majestic live oak trees, native palms and a sprinkling of other Duncan sculptures.
Inspired from one of Duncan’s doodles, “Eagy” stands 28 feet tall and is about six feet across. It is constructed of eight separate pieces that are strategically stacked to reach the nest at the top. The nest grabs and stores sunlight during the day allowing it to light up at night.
“Eagle’s Nest” was completed but not set up for two and a half years. All that time, Duncan wasn’t sure if it would work as planned. It did!
